Diaphragm-type material pressure regulators are designed to reduce feed pressure to the precise operating level needed for various applications. In addition to providing accurate regulation of material pressure, these regulators effectively compensate for pulsations caused by the reciprocating motion of piston pumps. Such pulsations briefly reduce pressure, which could lead to a slight drop in material flow. By smoothing these fluctuations, diaphragm regulators help maintain consistent pressure and material flow.
This type of regulator is ideal for processing reactive and moisture-sensitive materials, as well as abrasive media, thanks to the tungsten carbide construction of the ball and sharp seat. This durable build makes it suitable for materials like epoxy resins, polyurethanes, and other challenging substances. A PTFE-surfaced diaphragm is used to seal the spring space, enhancing resistance to chemical exposure and wear.
